Equitable Organizations
Ḵaa Tukax̱saké Héende Cross-Sector Equity Learning Group
Making Alaska a healthier, safer place for all to live and work begins within ourselves and our institutions. Haa Tóoch Lichéesh and our partners recognized the need for ongoing learning opportunities where representatives of all business sectors could participate in meaningful organizational change efforts around racial, gender, sexual orientation and disability equity. To support this shared vision, Ḵaa Tukax̱saké Héende, “The River that Untangles the Person’s Mind,” was born.
At our regular meetings, the group digs deep into understanding the harms caused by racism colonization, engages in hands-on cultural learning, and works to co-imagine a path of healing and moving forward in right relationship to this land and its people.
ANDORE Facilitation & Host Training
First Alaskans Institute’s Alaska Native Dialogues on Racial Equity (aka ANDORE) are a set of powerful tools created to support community leaders and advocates in building skills to advance community conversations, build brave spaces for truth-telling, and foster community healing and systemic change. HTL is available to help your community or organization as facilitators, or Hosts.
The ANDORE Hosting strategies teach how to build on existing strong relationships in our communities, how to reckon with racism on a systemic level, and how to apply restorative frameworks to create both interpersonal and policy impacts. Contact us to find out how to attend or hold a Host training for your organization or members of your community.
